iOS versions & compatibility
This page is a map, not a promise. Always confirm the exact model and iOS version on the tool's official site before trusting any claim.
| Device range | iOS range | Relevant tool scope |
|---|---|---|
| iPhone 5s–X (A7–A11) | iOS 12–14.8 | checkra1n (legacy, checkm8) |
| iPhone 5s–X (A8–A11 subset) | iOS 15+ | palera1n (semi-tethered, checkm8) |
| iPhone XS and newer (A12+) | Modern iOS | No checkm8 coverage — vendor claims for newer devices must be treated as Vendor-stated only until independently documented |
Full per-version pages (security changes, patches, and tool-claim changes) arrive in Phase 1.
